A collection of c20,000 objects relating to the places, people and businesses of Enfield.

This includes mammoth bones found in Tatem Park, a Roman lead coffin, a 16th century mural from Broomfield House and a range of 20th century domestic items including Belling objects and valves from Enfield’s industrial years.

Highlights from the collection are displayed in the museum’s new permanent gallery and twice yearly exhibitions in Dugdale Arts Centre.

There are also displays in Edmonton Green LibraryPalmers Green LibraryOrdnance Unity Centre Library and Forty Hall

Our outdoor museum!

The museum also has a regularly touring outdoor exhibition - look out for it in a park or high street near you! There are many museum events on at DAC and around the borough from talks to escape rooms, please make sure you are signed up to the DAC newsletter to find out more or follow the museum on social media, you'll find us with the tag @museumofenfield.

The museum is a partner in several current cultural heritage projects around the borough including Untold Edmonton.

Volunteering

We have a small group of regular volunteers who help with cataloguing, administration, looking after objects and events. We're always happy to hear from people who would like to get involved and sometimes have special training opportunities. If you'd like to know more, please contact us.

The Museum runs a loan pack scheme with artefacts for handling, suggested activities and lesson plans for you to use in school. Download the booking form with Terms and Conditions here.

Try our new loan pack! This pack consists of 8 boxes covering Enfield's industrial past; filled with artefacts, smell boxes, activities and a detailed lesson plan. To be delivered on site at DAC only. Cost includes hire of the pack and space. Download the booking form with Terms and Conditions here.
