DAC Emerging Technicians
In partnership with the Association of British Theatre Technicians (ABTT), Dugdale Arts Centre is thrilled announce DAC Emerging Technicians, a bespoke masterclass series designed to support early-career technicians to progress their careers. You will hone fundamental technical skills, gain a deeper understanding of working practices, and learn how to set up your own business as a sole trader with training and workshops delivered by industry professionals.
Who can apply?
Early-career technicians (up to 2 years’ experience in their field) or recent graduates looking to fast-track their careers. This course is designed to provide a 360° of essential practical and business skills to develop as a freelancer in the industry.
There is no upper age limit, so whether you are just entering the world of work or changing your career, we want to hear from you.
Course Schedule:
The course will take place in the professional studio theatre at Dugdale Arts Centre, Enfield Town. You will have access to specialist equipment providing hands on practical learning and skills development opportunities.
- Wednesday 14th May 10.30am-5pm - Health and Safety and Manual Handling
- Friday 16th May 10.30am-5pm - Ropes, Knots and Splicing
- Monday 19th May 10.30am-5pm - Electrical Fundamentals
- Tuesday 20th May 10.30am-5pm - Working Practices
- Tuesday 10th June 10.30-5pm - Sound Essentials
This is a free to attend in-person training course with light refreshments and lunch provided. All participants are expected to attend every training session in order to complete the course.
By the end of the programme, you will receive:
- CPD Certificates from ABTT for each module completed
- Credits towards the ABTT Bronze Award for Theatre Technicians
- Opportunities for paid professional experience at Dugdale Arts Centre
