Hillary Emetuche presents a solo exhibition at the Dugdale Arts Centre. Potentials exhibition showcases realistic charcoal and graphite works. Each piece tells a unique story.
Hillary received the Most Visitors’ Votes Prize at the 93rd Enfield Art Circle’s annual exhibition this September, where his charcoal portraits became a highlight for visitors. The works not only showcased his technical skill with charcoal but also revealed his ability to transform an exhibition into an interactive, participatory experience.
These works, created over the past year, explore themes of potential, identity, belonging, and community. Through striking contrasts, intricate detail, and emotive mark-making, Emetuche captures the complexities of human experience while leaving space for the viewer’s imagination to participate in the narrative.
